Some of the most creative and eye catching window displays we’ve seen recently are from luxury retailer Lanvin. Although the display in the photo above is a bit complicated to try and duplicate, most of their other displays are just as powerful, yet simple enough for other retailers to emulate.
However even in this display – there are some budget friendly ideas. First the mannequin is just the upper torso of a mannequin – meaning you could potentially not have to buy a full mannequin if you are lucky enough to find a torso with a head at a garage sale or at a used mannequin store like ours.
Secondly, the oversized items is what really grabs your attention. So even if you can’t create the “I am melting in the summer heat” scenario the idea of using a few simple but extra large props could be easily duplicated.
Doesn’t this window display below stimulate your senses? Just two props – a fan and a mannequin with the right pose and facial expression – make this a budget friendly, yet very effective window display for attracting attention. Getting people to look at your windows, is the first step in getting them to come inside.
These other Lanvin window displays show the creative use of umbrellas or parasols as the main prop – besides the lovely mannequins of course. What is special about these displays is the juxtaposition. Umbrellas and purses? Sounds strange on paper but looks fabulous here.
