It is rare to find mannequins with glass eyes anymore. That used to be the norm for high-end mannequins manufactured before 1980′s.
So when we recycled over 100 vintage realistic Rootstein mannequins from a museum we were thrilled to find that most of them had glass eyes.
Unfortunately the museum had completely painted over all the mannequins from head to toe in shades of yellow and lavender.
But look at the before and after photos of the mannequins we sold to Chad Morrisette, a Los Angeles based visual merchandiser, who picked up some of the real treasures from us and had them refinished to their original glory just in time to put to be used in his holiday window displays.
One of our customers bought a Cher mannequin, which had been so completely painted over we did not initially realize it was Cher or that there were glass eyes behind that yellow paint.
But in the hands of a talented mannequin refinisher, look at Cher now.
If you currently own a vintage mannequin that needs refinishing or want to buy one of our used mannequins, we have several mannequin refinishers to recommend to you in different parts of the country. The companies listed below can do repairs as well as refinishing and they refinish the ENTIRE body. There are mannequin refinishers that will only do the face or the upper torso, so they are not listed here.
