The skyrocketing cost of waste disposal fees skyrocketing combined with the environmental impact of putting mannequins in the landfill, has motivated retailers to seek other options for mannequins they are discarding when they are remodeling or closing stores.
During a recent remodel, the new mannequins would arrive in the evening and Mannequin Madness would facilitate the removal of the old mannequins the next morning before the store opened. In many cases they we would also remove the boxes that new mannequins arrived in, saving the store more money.
Dress forms, props and some store fixtures are also items that Mannequin Madness will recycle. In 2003 Environmental Protection Agency gave Mannequin Madness a special achievement award for for recycling over 100,000 pounds of mannequins a year. That was when we were only recycling mannequins on a regional level.
Now that we can do this on a national level we recycle that many mannequins every quarter.
