Mannequin art, Mannequin History and the politics of mannequins are all topics that I write about. I recently came across a series of articles written by by Tove Hermanson the Editor of the Costume Society of America’s monthly newsletter that I were fascinating.

The first article is about the early history of mannequins which technically dates back 1350 BC when a wooden dress form wearing clothing were found in King Tut’s tomb. The article traces how mannequins have evolved – both in terms of the materials used to manufacture them and how mannequins reflect the mood and emotions of the times – from ancient times until the 1940’s.
