Call me crazy but I have always wanted a mannequin for my garden. My original idea was to cover it with mosaic tiles and create a “garden goddess” to add an interesting element to my otherwise lackluster garden.
But when I realized how much work is involved with mosaic tiles, I decided that instead I would just find a mannequin with an interesting pose. Easier said than done, especially if you don’t want to spend an arm and a leg (excuse the pun).
Then I got into the mannequin recycling business and received a lot of emails from people looking for a cheap used mannequin for garden décor.
Mannequins are made of fiberglass (just like surfboards) and can withstand a fair amount of exposure to the elements. While they are not as durable as ceramic or clay, they are much cheaper – especially if you get a used headless mannequin.
