From Journalism to Mannequins
I earned a degree in Journalism from the University of Southern California and spent much of my career in sales and marketing with Fortune 100 companies.
A brief experience at a San Francisco dot-com during the late 1990s sparked my interest in entrepreneurship. Even so, I assumed I had missed my chance. I was already in my 40s and believed I was too old to start a business.
The Craigslist Search That Changed Everything
Everything changed while I was searching Craigslist for Tina Turner concert tickets.
Instead of finding tickets, I stumbled across an opportunity that launched me into an industry where I had absolutely no experience: mannequins.
At first, I simply saw a business opportunity. But it quickly became much more than that. I discovered a passion for rescuing mannequins and retail fixtures that would otherwise end up in landfills and helping artists, retailers, nonprofits, educators, and entrepreneurs give them a second life.
Inspired by Tina Turner
Tina Turner wasn’t just the catalyst for starting my business. Her resilience, reinvention, and determination became a source of inspiration that has carried me through the challenges of entrepreneurship ever since.
