For the month of February I am going to feature my series on the African American mannequins that Rootstein produced.
This is Moshe. Few people have ever seen him in a store window and I can’t find any information about him in real life.
I believe he was more popular in London retail stores than in the USA. Mannequins (and models) of African descent have always been a little more readily accepted in Europe than they are In the states .
Look at the choice of poses he came in. Rootstein always have a gift of making mannequins seem “lifelike”. And while I love seated/reclining mannequins, they can be a bit of a challenge to dress.+2
